Summary of Position

The Network Analyst I will be responsible for efficient and reliable operation of the MGNX infrastructure environment and systems. This individual will be working in a team setting and in a lead role when managing direct responsibilities. This position requires the ability to handle tactical matters such as service requests as well as being strategic when working on larger projects.

Responsibilities and Job Duties

  • Provides escalation support to deskside and desktop support teams as required
  • Processing new hires, employee changes and separations including network and telephone account changes and coordination of equipment configuration and installation
  • Provides all level of support to Windows based servers (OS & hardware)
  • Manages all AD accounts, Group Policies, DHCP, DNS Servers
  • Monitoring, managing, and testing system backups.
  • Applying latest critical and security patches to servers and appliances and upgrade server applications
  • Works closely with the departments and external vendors to define, develop, and document application related business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis
  • Support of audio/visual systems (TVs, projectors, etc.), and video teleconference systems (VTC)
  • Performing network change request for changes to switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Performing troubleshooting on all network technologies including switches, routers, wireless, ISP connections, and WAN connections. Solid grasp of OSPF and BGP routing technologies plus how to troubleshoot complex networking issues
  • Contributing to timely and accurate communications with other parts of the organization regarding IT projects, timelines, and compliance
  • Ensuring that all work is completed in a manner which meets regulatory requirements and updating or creating procedures to address any potential issues
  • Participating in the selection, validation, implementation, and training of corporate and IT systems and other processes in collaboration with managers, and other departments, as needed.
  • Providing administration and maintenance of production servers running Windows Servers in a 24/7 environment

Qualifications

Education, Certifications & Experience

  • Bachelors with a minimum of one year of experience managing and maintaining both systems, hardware, and desktops in a primarily Windows environment
  • HS Diploma and a minimum of four years of experience managing and maintaining both systems, hardware, and desktops in a primarily Windows environment

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – ability to effectively represent Information Systems in various internal and external meetings
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, but seek appropriate involvement from senior management regarding complex issues beyond position scope
  • Comprehensive knowledge and support of VMWare or Microsoft virtualization technologies
  • Comprehensive knowledge and support of SCCM, Microsoft Exchange Online, Skype for Business, Office 365, and SharePoint Online
  • Command of detailed Windows OS support tasks (2008 - 2016 & 7 - 10), setup OS to a new unformatted hard drive and/or RAID controller, and navigate the Windows registry and understand its full structure
  • Command of how to setup/configure network printers in a Windows print server environment, along with providing printer hardware support
  • Able to trace phone and network patch cables to wall jacks and/or connectivity devices and use phone & network wiring continuity testers, clearly understands and can follow network device/system inter-connectivity diagrams and produce basic diagrams
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems and equipment as needed
  • Maintaining personal awareness and proficiency in new technologies and industry trends
  • Ability to manage several high-priority, fast-paced activities within required timelines without sacrificing quality
  • Ability to travel as needed to perform maintenance at remote corporate locations. Requires traveling to our site in San Francisco at least twice a year as well as regular visits to our other two locations in Rockville (less than a mile from the corporate office).
