Summary of Position

The Data Coordinator generates queries to ensure the clinical data collected are logical, consistent, and follow protocol.   S/he assists in the User Acceptance Testing of the clinical database and the development of edit checks, reviews data listings for data inconsistencies, posts resulting queries to the clinical database, and addresses the query responses from the clinical sites. Works under the supervision of more senior data management personnel.

Responsibilities and Job Duties

  • Reading and understanding study protocols
  • Developing data checking rules to ensure the data fields collected on a Case Report Form are within pre-established range or in the right format, and they do not contradict other data collected on other Case Report Form pages
  • Testing the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) database to ensure that the data capture fields and data checking rules perform as expected
  • Generating queries and reviewing query responses from clinical sites
  • Reconciling external data with the clinical database
  • Generating data management metrics
  • Validating simple SAS programming outputs against the EDC database
  • Following MacroGenics' CDM processes, SOPs and WPs.
  • Assisting Data Manager with other activities as required
  • Keeping Lead Data Manager of progress and any issues that may impact process compliance, data integrity, reporting accuracy, timelines, or quality
  • Routinely seeks help from more senior data managers

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or the equivalent years of experience and education and a minimum of two years of related experience working with clinical data

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be logical, detail oriented, and able to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability and desire to work within a team environment but also be responsible for focusing on individual tasks and goals
